In order to create potions, players will need a specific type of manual, the skill Prepare Potion and different types of items. Potions are a type of usable items used to aid players in surviving or attacking. This system is exclusive to the Alchemist branch.

Potion Materials
Manuals are items needed to create potions. They can be purchased from the Alchemist Guild in Al de Baran. Except for the Elemental Potion Creation Guide, which is obtained through a quest. Note that the Medicine Bowl is not an actual ingredient, but a catalyst for Prepare Potion.
Hunting Guide for Materials
Monster Drops
- Red Herb : Best from Familiar (Payon Caves) or Red Plant.
- Yellow Herb : Best from Bongun (Payon Caves) or Yellow Plant.
- White Herb : Best from Ghoul (Glast Heim ST. Abbey & Churchyard), White Plant, Blazer and Lava Golem in Magma Dungeon.
- Blue Herb : Found throughout Rune-Midgard, mainly through Blue Plant, Goat or Nightmare.
- Alcohol : Low drop from Mushroom and a few other monsters. Mostly created using Prepare Potion or Change Material
- Stem : Mandragora (North of Geffen) and Flora (Geffen and Comodo Field).
- Poison Spore : Poison Spore (Geffen Field).
- Cactus Needle : Muka (two South of Prontera).
- Mole Whiskers : Martin (upper two levels of Coal Mine).
- Witch Starsand : Bathory (Clock Tower Basement Level 4).
- Fabric : Whisper (Glast Heim or Sunken Ship level 1)
- Maneater Blossom : Geographer (Juno Fields) or Flora.
- Tendon : Marine Sphere (Izlude Dungeon Level 3 and Level 4).
- Detonator : Marine Sphere.
- Immortal Heart : Verit (Pyramid).
- Zenorc Fang : Zenorc (Orc Dungeon Level 2).
- Heart of Obeaune (Izlude Dungeon Level 3).
- Honey : Generally found from Bigfoot and Turtles.
- Aloe : Red Plant.
- Ment : Green Plant.

- Empty Potion Bottles : Found in the Mage Guild in Northwest Geffen.
- Empty Test Tube : Found in the Mage Guild in Northwest Geffen.
- Scell : Found in the Tool Shop in Southwest Geffen.
- Medicine Bowl : Found in the Alchemist Guild in Southwest Al De Baran.
- Empty Bottle : Found in most Tool Shops.
- Red Potion : Found in any Tool Shop in any town map.
- Yellow Potion : Found in any Tool Shop in any town map.
- White Potion : Found in any Tool Shop in any town map.
- Morning Dew of Yggdrasil : Found in the Alchemist Guild in Southwest Al De Baran.
- Seed of Life : Found in the Alchemist Guild in Southwest Al De Baran.
- Glass Tube : Found in the Alchemist Guild in Southwest Al De Baran.
Fame System
For Brewers there is a system in which players are ranked based on who can create the most potions.
- Rank Point +1: 3 Condensed Potions created without failure in a row.
- Rank Point +3: 5 Condensed Potions created without failure in a row.
- Rank Point +10: 7 Condensed Potions created without failure in a row.
- Rank Point +50: 10 Condensed Potions created without failure in a row.
Alchemist ranks can be checked via usage of the /alchemist command ingame. Potions made by an Alchemist class player who is in the top 10 list will receive a 50% bonus to their efficiency. This does not apply to potions used through Aid Potion or Aid Condensed Potion.
Item Look & Feel
- When a potion is brewed successfully, its name will have the brewer's name attached.
- Normally the brewer's name will appear in blue. However, if the character that brewed the item has been deleted, the brewer's name is lost, and their items become Nameless.
